Per il funzionamento della gru sono previsti i tre movimenti fondamentali: sollevamento, traslazione del carico, rotazione. L'addetto al sollevamento si trova sulla piattaforma inferiore dove la fune viene avvolta e svolta sul tamburo agendo sulle lunghe razze del volantino coassiale al tamburo stesso. Sulla piattaforma superiore è situato l'addetto alla traslazione del carico e fa ruotare, per mezzo di un volante a razze, una lunga vite con passo destrorso da una parte e sinistrorso dall'altra. La rotazione avviene da terra agendo sulle funi fissate ai due anelli all'estremità dei bracci orizzontali.

ROTATING CRANE

Three fundamental movements are foreseen for the function of the crane: Raising and translation of the weight, rotation. GRUE TOURNANT

Pour le fonctionnement de la grue sont prévu les trois mouvements fondamentaux: soulèvement, translation du poids, rotation. Le chargé du soulèvement est sur la plateforme inférieure où le câble est enroulé et déroulé sur le mandrin en agissant sur les longues bras du volant coaxiale au mandrin même. Sur la plateforme supérieure se trouve le chargé à la translation du poids qui fait tourner au moyen d'un volant à bras, une longue vis avec un pas dextrorsum d'une côté. La rotation est effectué à partir du bas en agissant sur les câbles fixés aux deux bagues à l'extrémité des bras horizontaux.
