Primo esempio di carro falciante, (gia utilizzato nell'antica Roma e che Leonardo ha perfezionato.
Sul foglio Leonardo annota: questi carri furono di diverse maniere e spesso fecero non men danno alli amici che alli nemici…contro questi carri bisogna usare arcieri, fondatori e lanciatori e tiratori ogni maniera di dardi, lance, sassi, fochi, romori di tamburo, grida...
E per questo si spaventerà li cavalli i quali sfrenati si volteranno a lor dispetto dei governatori…
La macchina viene trainata d cavalli, le pale rotanti sono messe in rotazione da un ingegnoso meccanismo di trasmissione direttamente collegato al movimento delle ruote del carro.

CHARIOT POUR FAUCHER N°1

Première exemple de chariot pour faucher (déjà utilisè dans la Rome antique et que Leonardo a perfectionnè).
Leonardo remarque que ces chariots ètaient de diffèrentes manières et souvent ont fait dommages soit aux amis que aux ennemis... contre ces chariots sont à utiliser des arches, des lanceurs de pierres et toutes sortes de lanceurs de flèches, des lances, pierres, feux, bruits de tambour, cris...et pour cella les chevaux seront effrayés en se tournant vers eux en dèpit du gouvernement...
La machine est trainée par les chevaux, les pales tournantes sont mises en rotation par un ingénieux mécanisme de transmission directement lié au mouvement des roues du chariot.

Leonardo schrieb auf dem Papier: dieser Wagen wurden auf unterschiedliche Weise gebaut und haben oft mehr Schaden an die Freunde als an die Feinde getan... gegen diese Wagen muessten Bogenschuetzen, Schleudere und alle moegliche Werfer von Pfeilen, Speere und Steine, Feuer, Geraeusche, Schreien verwendet... und dies wird die Pferde erschrecken, die sich gegen ihnen trotzt der Regierung erheben.
Die Maschine wird von Pferden geschleppt, die drehenden Messer bewengen sich durch einen ausgekluegelten Uebertragungsmechanismus, baß direkt an die Bewegung der Raeder des Wagens verbunden ist.
